About Mock Trial

Students take on the responsibilities of witnesses and attorneys in the High School Mock Trial Competition. White Station HS has entered a team in the local Mock Trial competition since it's inception in the 1980-1981 school year, as long as the Tennessee Bar Association Young Lawyers' Division has sponsored the event.

The White Station High School Mock Trial team has been to nationals 7 times, attended the state competition 28 times and has been in the Top 3 teams in the city almost every year.

Teams receive the case in late November and prepare both the prosecution and defense. WSHS alumni and community members who are attorneys in the Memphis area volunteer to coach the student teams. The 2016 local competition will take place at the Shelby County Courthouse in February, and the statewide competition will take place March 18-19 in Nashville.
